Welcome to Central Labrador!
This site includes information for tourists about services in the communities of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, North West River, Mud Lake and Sheshatshiu, all located in the heart of Labrador, the area we call the Lake Melville Region.

Our Visitor Information Centre (VIC) includes a free internet cafe for tourists, and lots of brochures and maps are available. The VIC also houses the office of the Labrador Lake Melville Tourism Association. Watch for the ? INFORMATION SIGN. You will find us at 365 Hamilton River Road, Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Labrador CANADA.

Besides the information service available, we also provide tourists with
  • free access to computers and Internet,
  • a dumpster for you to use,
  • a public washroom,
  • and an outdoor water supply for you to hose down your vehicle after the long drive here.

The Visitor Information Centre is currently closed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

*The ROAD is now OPEN*
The new road link is now open between Goose Bay and Cartwright, on the Atlantic seaboard. Travellers can continue their road trips directly to the Labrador Straits for the ferry crossing of the Strait of Belle Isle from Blanc Sablon, Quebec between May and January. Starting February 1, the Sir Robert Bond will operate two round trips per week between Cornerbrook and Blanc Sablon.

When there is severe weather, portions of this road may be closed to ensure your safety. Please calll for Winter Road conditions and information To ensure your safety, the provincial government has placed five satellite phones at the Alexis Hotel in Port Hope Simpson for you to borrow on the wilderness drive. You will need a credit card number and driver's licence to access one of these phones.

Satellite phones can now be picked up at the following participating hotels:
• Wabush Hotel in Wabush;
• Midway Travel Inn in Churchill Falls;
• Hotel North Two and Royal Inn and Suites in Happy Valley-Goose Bay; and,
• Alexis Hotel in Port Hope Simpson.

Innu Mikun/Provincial Airlines
The LLMTA is proud to announce that Innu Mikun Provincial Airlines is now the official air carrier for the organization. Innu Mikun Provincial Airlines provides air service from Goose Bay Airport across the province, as well as Sept Isles, Blanc Sablon, and Montreal.
